Pet Grief Counselling
Grief doesn't stop you from loving another, but loving another does not stop grief.
I'm Laurel, and I know the heartbreak of losing a beloved pet all too well. My own sweet Pixie, my precious poodle, was ripped away from me at just 23 months old.
Losing a cherished pet, especially under tragic circumstances, brings a unique pain. I understand the waves of sadness, the confusion, and sometimes, the unexpected guilt that can accompany saying goodbye. Here, you'll find caring, empathetic support as you process your unique grief journey. There's no right or wrong way to feel, and absolutely no guilt when it comes to saying goodbye.
Whatever the circumstances of your loss, I'm here to listen, understand, and help you talk through it.

No matter the circumstances, whether your dog has come to the end of his natural life or you've tragically lost them before their time, it is utterly heartbreaking. Not everyone understands the loss of a pet, and sometimes, it helps to talk to someone outside of your family or friendship circle.
There is no time limit on grief.

Your Initial Consultation: A Gentle First Step
Taking that first step to seek support is a courageous one, and I'm so glad you're here. This initial consultation is a warm, pressure-free opportunity for us to connect. Think of it as an opportunity to share your story or simply to see if my approach feels right for you. There's absolutely no obligation, just a space for you to explore how I can support you through this incredibly difficult time.
Our initial conversation is typically 60 minutes, just like our future sessions. This gives us ample time to talk without feeling rushed, but if we need a little more, we can certainly extend it.
During our time together, you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Perhaps you'd like to tell me about your beloved pet or the circumstances of their passing. Or, maybe you just have questions about how grief counselling works and what you can expect. This time is completely yours.
I understand that every grief journey is unique, and my goal is to create a tailored space that honours your specific needs and feelings. My own experience with losing my precious Pixie, my poodle, at just 23 months old to tragic circumstances, deeply informs my empathy and understanding. You are not alone in this pain, and there's no judgment or guilt here, only compassionate support.
This is simply an opportunity for us to talk, for you to ask any questions you might have, and for me to explain a little more about how I can walk alongside you on your path to healing. I look forward to connecting with you.
